AI

Your own AI, on your terms.

Connect your organisation's own AI service and choose the model for each kind of work. Work that runs on your AI follows your agreement with your provider, and uses no Stable Baseline credits.

Organisation settings, AI: what the assistant may change, and the AI your work runs on.

Who can set it up

Owners and admins, under Organisation settings, AI. It is on every plan, and on the Free plan it is the only way to use AI: Free does not include Stable Baseline's AI, so Orbit, your agents and the other AI features run only on your AI there. An organisation that does not want it can switch the Own AI module off.

Connect your AI

  1. Choose Add your AI

On the AI page, press Add your AI.
  2. Pick the service

Choose your provider from the list, or add your own endpoint: any service that follows the common chat API standard, such as a gateway, a model host or your own server. For your own endpoint you give it a name, its address, the key, and the key's header if it needs one. Your own endpoint is for paid plans; on Free, choose a provider from the list.
  3. Check, choose the models, try it

Stable Baseline checks the key works, you choose the models it may use, and you can try one before you rely on it.
  4. Move the kinds of work across

Choose which kinds of work run on your AI. You can move them one at a time.

Your key stays yours

Keys are kept encrypted and are only used to call the service you connected. Change or remove a connection at any time. On a paid plan, the work it carried goes back to Stable Baseline's AI and uses credits again; on Free, that work stops until you choose another model for it.

Kinds of work

Kind of workWhat it covers

Thinking workDecks and reading brands
Knowledge graph readingReading your documents into your knowledge graph

The page shows how many of the four run on your AI.

Orbit and your agents

  • Orbit runs on thinking work, so choosing the AI for thinking work chooses Orbit's.
  • Each agent runs on everyday work or thinking work. New agents start on everyday work; change any of them under Orbit and your agents, one at a time or all together.

While neither everyday nor thinking work runs on your AI, the same choice is each agent's Speed, on its overview: Quick responses is everyday work, and Thinking is thinking work. See Agents.

Where the work runs

Stable Baseline's AI does its processing and inference in Australia. Pictures are the exception: they are processed outside Australia. Work on your own AI runs wherever your provider runs it, under your agreement with them.

Credits

Work that runs on your own AI uses no credits. A task with a fixed fee is free only when every kind of work it uses runs on your AI. When all four kinds run on your AI, credits disappear from the app altogether. See Credits.
