Credits, only for the AI work.
Credits pay for the work Stable Baseline's AI does for you, and they come with the paid plans. Reading, writing and editing by hand never use them, and neither does asking Orbit or an agent a question. Here is what uses them, what it costs, and where to see your balance.
What uses credits
- AI generation in documents, diagrams and whiteboards: drafting, AI edits and AI diagrams.
- Work Orbit does for you: changes, and new documents, tables, dashboards, plans and more.
- Designed decks, illustrations, pictures and premium whiteboard designs.
- Meeting Scribe, for each five minutes of a meeting.
- Compliance readiness scans.
- Reading a web page for you, and other tools that carry their own fee.
- Work agents do on their own, for their duties.
What never uses credits
- Reading, browsing, writing and editing by hand.
- Drawing a diagram by hand or from its source.
- Asking Orbit a question: searches, reading, summaries and explanations.
- Asking an agent.
- The company brain on Enterprise, which is paid for by the storage it uses.
- Work that runs on your organisation's own AI.
What Orbit's work costs
Asking Orbit is free, within a fair-use number of questions a day for each person. The work it does for you uses credits, by what it makes:
| Orbit's work | Credits |
|---|---|
| A change: a record, a row, a task, a field, a setting, an edit to a document however long, a rename, a move or a removal | A few credits |
| Many changes at once | A few credits for each batch of the same kind in one place |
| Something new: a document however long, a table, database, view, form, dashboard, plan, agent or duty, with what Orbit makes inside it at the same time (a plan's phases and tasks, a table's fields and views, an agent's first duty) | More credits than a change |
| A database job done in one step: changing every row that matches, undoing that, importing a file or making a copy | The same as a change, or as something new when it makes something new |
| A diagram in a document | The same as the diagram editor's AI charges for it |
Work with a price of its own, such as a premium whiteboard design or reading a web page, keeps that price and is never charged twice. How much Orbit writes never adds to the price. Only finished work is charged: a change you skip or decline, or one that fails or is cancelled, costs nothing, a retry is not charged again, and a batch that is only partly saved pays for the part that was saved. See Orbit.
What agents' own work costs
| A duty run that | Credits |
|---|---|
| Checks an event and finds nothing to do | 1 |
| Acts: a draft, a reply or a change | 5 |
| Works unusually long | More |
| Is skipped because the event does not match its filters | 0 |
Asking an agent yourself stays free. See Duties for monthly limits on an agent or a duty.
Seeing the price
Designs, decks, scans and meetings show their price and wait for you to go ahead. When Orbit asks before a change, its card shows the price, and the charge is never more than that. Orbit always asks before spending a larger amount of credits at once, and ends each turn by saying what it used. If a scan fails, its credits come back by themselves.
Your balance
Owners and admins see the balance under Organisation settings, Billing & Credits: the credits available, what your plan includes and when it renews, and credits bought in packs. Paid plans include credits for each paying person each month, and owners and admins can buy packs there at any time. See pricing for what each plan includes and what packs cost.
On the Free plan
The Free plan does not include Stable Baseline's AI, and has no credits. Its AI features work once your organisation connects its own AI, and that work uses no credits: your provider bills you for it. Until then, an AI feature says it needs a paid plan or your own AI.
Credits your organisation bought are kept when it moves to Free, for 12 months or until they would have expired, whichever comes first. Billing shows the date. Move back to a paid plan in that time and they work again. Credits that come with a plan do not carry over.
When credits run out
- AI work that needs credits asks you, or an owner, to add some first. Orbit says so before it starts a change, and still answers questions. Everything else carries on.
- Duties that use credits pause, and start again by themselves once there are credits. What arrives meanwhile is kept for up to 7 days.
